Bradford Farm Availability & Updates 6/02/25-6/06/25

Hey Chefs!  Bradford Okra is finally coming in! This week will be limited availability though, as it is just getting going. Keep checking inventory over the week as we will continually update with harvests.

⚠️ **Highlights of the week**⚠️

Bradford Family Okra

Like our collards and watermelon, this variety has been passed down in our family since the mid 1800s.  It has been selected and maintained to be a large tender-pod okra.  Unlike modern varieties which are tough and fibrous unless harvested small, ours is crisp and tender up to 7 and 8 inches long.  Because they are allowed to mature longer on the okra bush, they take on a greater depth of flavor and are much sweeter.  The seeds are also able to produce a higher oil content which enriches the taste even more.

Available in limited quantities this week.

NEW McLeod Farms Peaches

Fresh from McBee, SC · Season runs through Labor Day

For all you chefs who’ve been askin’ over the last month and a half when peaches would be ready… THEY'RE FINALLY HERE! Bradford Farm is offering McLeod Farms peaches, grown in McBee, SC. These iconic peaches come from a 120-year-old family-run farm, now in its fifth generation of stewardship. The McLeods have been producing high-quality peaches since 1916, and their name is synonymous with flavor and tradition across the Carolinas.

Spanning over 1,000 acres of dedicated peach orchards, McLeod Farms is known for its commitment to sustainability and precision agriculture. Under the leadership of father-son duo, Kemp and Spencer McLeod, the farm continues to push forward with smart innovations while holding tight to the generational knowledge that makes these peaches so consistently outstanding.

These are the kind of peaches that bring summer to the plate—bold, fragrant, colorful and picked to perfection. Whether you’re grilling, pickling, baking, or showcasing them raw, they’re a standout on any menu. We’re taking standing orders now, with the season running through Labor Day.

Peaches are picked at peak color, packed and immediately cooled. They will be ready to go in only a couple days upon delivery!

Reach out to Nat or Theron to get on the list—we expect demand to stay high through the season.

NEW Romaine Lettuce- Clem’s Organic Gardens

Clem Swift of Clem’s Organic Gardens in the Blue Ridge mountains of Pisgah, NC grows a number of wonderful crops for us. His Romaine lettuce is the most flavorful you’ll find! This is not your typical watery hydroponic lettuce. This lettuce is grown directly in the rich river bottom soil along the Davidson River where his farm borders abounding with minerals and organic matter. This is the backbone for creating Romaine lettuce full of deliciousness! Each case has 8 heads.
