Fresh, Shelled Pecans (new crop) - Johnny McNair
FRESH HARVESTED and SHELLED 2025 PECANS!!! We are thrilled to be offering this high quality crop through Johnny McNair, our local field pea and butterbean grower. These are from old groves of paper-shell varieties like ‘Stuart’, ‘Schley’ and ‘Elliot’ that have been proven producers in our region for a hundred years or more. Excellent flavor, dense kernels, sweet and crisp, and super fresh!
Pee Dee ‘Covington’ Sweet Potatoes - Dixon Farm
Covington is an old southern variety with rich, orange flesh, creamy texture and no stringiness. The flavor is mild and pleasantly sweet. We are working with 5th generation sweet potato farmers, Dixon Farms, out of Aynor, SC, deep in the Pee Dee region of the state. The region produces the best sweet potatoes in the state with its deep sandy soil and high water table. Three sizes available (medium, large, jumbo) with large and in two cases sizes: 10lbs and 40lbs.
NEW! Stayman Winesap Apples - Lively Orchards
The Stayman Winesap is an heirloom apple that originated in Kansas in the mid-1800s, known for its rich, complex sweet-tart flavor with spicy wine-like notes, often with hints of cinnamon, and a firm, crisp, juicy yellow flesh. Its skin is deep red over a greenish base with some russeting, making it an excellent all-purpose apple.
Characteristics like that make the Stayman a nice choice for pies, cobblers and sauces. In the mountains where Lively Orchards grows them, the Stayman often finds its way into juice and cider as well. And mountain folks before and during the Great Depression cherished this Winesap as an excellent keeping apple. Kept refrigerated, this apple retains its flavor and appearance well into April!
