Hey there chefs and other awesome website visitors! This week is big because we are really starting to see fall catch on, the weather comes down to more consistent cooler days. It’ll be about 80 degrees here in Sumter all week, the candy roaster squash and Dutch fork pumpkin vines are looking beautiful and our family Bradford Collards are BACK. We have been getting some really stellar produce from our friends lately as well, we are proud to bring you this week’s offering.
Important Notes!!
- We have Bradford collards coming back in finally! Only bagged, chopped will be available for the time being as these are young plants and we want to wait until we have some that have flushed out to sell as Whole Plant orders.
- Clem’s Organic Gardens will be providing us with new crop Orange Bolero Carrots and Orange Bolero Baby Carrots beginning this Thursday 9/11/25
- Clem’s Butterbaby squash should be noted that the squash at beginning of the season were very very small, the average size has increased now, still personal sized but not quite as tiny as before. The size has a more variation now too.
⚠️ **Highlights of the week**⚠️
Bradford Family Collards - Bagged/Chopped
Our Bradford Collards are the heart of our growing operation, so we are really glad to have them available again. We have gotten so much great feedback on our collards from so many over the years. They truly are unique from all other collard varieties. The most tender and flavorful collards you’ve ever had!
And we’ve made it so easy and convenient by washing, chopping and bagging them for you. All you have to do is open the bag, pour them in the pot and you’re ready to rock!
Appalachian Gold Potatoes - Clem’s
Short story:
Creamy, buttery golds with thin skins that crisp beautifully; hold structure when roasted, velvety when mashed.
Long story:
Clem’s Appalachian Golds are grown in the cool mountain soil of Pisgah Forest, where the mineral-rich loam produces a potato with exceptional creaminess and depth of flavor. These gold potatoes hold their structure beautifully when roasted but mash down into a velvety, almost buttery consistency. Their thin, golden skins crisp up quickly in the pan, making them a versatile choice for both rustic and refined plating.
