The Citrumelo was the most successful in having that classic lemon taste along with the cold tolerance. Citrumelo is much larger than super market lemons, ranging in size from a tennis ball to a small grapefruit. It is super juicy and very tart, but with that classic grapefruit floral quality that is so pleasing coming from it’s parentage. The rind is very bitter however, so not recommended for zesting. Perhaps could be good for bitters though. Shake up your cocktail game with Citrumelos, brighten your favorite seafood dish or do a lemon curd with a new twist on the run of the mill lemon.
