Pepper - Banana - 10lb
Current banana peppers available are baby hot bananas with mixed ripeness (first picture). Don’t buy them thinking they’ll be large, ivory, sweet and mild because they’ll light your tail on fire. Farmer Maynard at Dorr Farms started the pepper plants with another greenhouse grower who, without telling Maynard, switched the sweet ones out for small hot banana peppers because he was out of the sweet ones. Now Maynard is stuck growing a hot pepper in a market that really only desires mild peppers and sweet peppers. At least they look awesome!
Banana peppers are typically sweet, relatively thin-walled peppers that are delicious raw, pickled or cooked. Sweetness and heat variates depending on the grower and variety grown. We get banana peppers from many different farmers throughout the season. Sometimes they’re hotter, sometimes they're less sweet. These have almost zero heat typically.
