One of our specialty crop farmers has supplied us with his first crop of Fuyu Persimmons! Unlike our native persimmons, the Fuyu is a non astringent variety that can be eaten while still firm or at peak maturity when softer without any of the dry mouth feel. These are sweet, mild flavored, and delicious with hints of vanilla and cinnamon, reflecting well with the fall harvest season. They are great eaten raw out of hand or worked into fresh salads and similar preparations, baked into breads, or cooked into puddings and deserts of all kinds.
